GunnDawg Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 (edited) So I finally got this beast fired up, systems on and ready to fly....(Thanks to Alpha) So I sit back, get ready for some action.....slowly raise my throttle to get some lift...but I dont go anywhere! I can hear the rotors getting louder and louder as the throttle increases...but I am not lifting off at all! Now what am I missing? :( P.S. When I give it enough throttle I get a warning with a lady saying to "Watch EKRAN" P.S.S Upon further review I realise my cockpit door is still open, lol. Not sure if thats the cause of it. But how do I close the door? Edited December 22, 2008 by GunnDawg
Rhino4 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Are you increasing throttle or collective? What are your rotor RPMs? What does the ekran say?
Mad Dog 7.62 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Did you set the throttles to "Auto"? The yellow levers behind the fuel cutoffs.....you move them with page up and page down. GunnDawg Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 Well by default controls, my throttle lever on my Flight Yoke (yes I use a yoke) is assigned to Collective control... I tried to assign another axis to the throttle control but the game only lets you assign "keys" to the throttle control....so I am confused now
GunnDawg Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 This is the yoke I have... http://www.mijnalbum.nl/foto.php?m=fto&a=72&id=1948158&key=TF7ZA7RC The lever closest to the left is the one I have set as collective control, I tried to set the 2nd lever (middle) to Throttle but it doesnt let me assign a slider for Throttle. Only collective. Also, even though my first lever is assigned to collective.... I see the throttle going up and down on the left back panel of the cockpit (the yellow one)
Macka Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 everyone beat me to it....make sure auto. There we were....two against a thousand.....so what'd we do....Shotem' both!!!! GunnDawg Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 yeah I used page up x 2 to set it where it should be....then when I pushed my "collective" lever forward the throttle lever went up to full....so it sounds like the lever on my yoke is controlling the throttle instead of the collective maybe?
GunnDawg Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 So this does not make sense... in the control options > Axis Commands I have "Flight Control Collective" set to "JOY Z" which is the first lever on the left on my yoke...however in the game when I move that lever...the throttle (yellow thing on the left) is the thing that moves... What am I doing wrong.
GunnDawg Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 This is making no sense. I even re checked my throttle axis which is "JOY Z" and made sure it was set to "Flight Control Collective" Then I went back in the game and did the engine start cheat to see if I did something wrong. Then when its all started up I throw my collective forward and the only thing that goes up is the yellow lever on the left.....why is it not moving my collective?
nemises Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Make sure you are setting the collective AXIS controls in the SIMULATION set of control options. Also, note that the Throttle levers are housed on a free rotating mount that rotates in concert with the Collective, which might be giving you the illusion of the throttles moving, whereas it is the throttle housing that is moving with the collective and the throttles themselves are stationary in relation to it. I've noticed also that the first 15 or 20% of the Collective play does not actually "show" on the collective handle for some reason, allthough the blade pitch meter does go up. Infact, thats a good test...re-double check your collective mapping, and when in game check the Blade pitch meter on the front console (bottom left side) .. this should change directly in relation to your collective inputs.
