spikenet Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Hi I have the george udlr on a 4 way hat. This works great. However, if in the CPG config I use a modifier and try to use that 4 way hat it can only trigger george commands even tho there are different binds on the CPG config ie Sight select. Is this a bug or is there a work around george wont steal a hat for himself only and I can use a modifier to get more buttons on my stick.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted May 26, 2022 ED Team Posted May 26, 2022 Hi, it seems to be ok for me. Tested with modifiers. Once the george AI menu is activated you only have George commands, which is a seperate controls menu. If you close George AI menu the cp/g keyset is active again, then you can use the 4 way and the 4 way with a modifier 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Floyd1212 Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 I think what he wants to do is bind UDLR for George to be one thing from the PLT seat, but be another set of binds (using a modifier) when in the CPG seat. But because these binds are not part of the PLT or CPG profiles, I don't think this is possible. 1
Baldrick33 Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 (edited) As @BIGNEWYsays once the George AI is activated the hat (or whatever is assigned in the George AI controls) will be used for George AI commands. Simply deactivating it (press George AI Helper Interface - show/hide) and the hat will be assigned to the CPG controls and however many modifiers you wish to use. George still has control even without the interface showing If you wish to see the George AI interface and switch between the Hat for George AI and CPG controls you could use a third party product like Joy2Key or Joystick Gremlin and switch modes so that pressing the Hat gives DCS different inputs (buttons or keys) in each mode but I am not sure that is really needed unless I am missing something. spikenet Posted May 27, 2022 Author Posted May 27, 2022 (edited) Thanks everyone, I ended up doing a shift mode for my stick to assign different virtual buttons for the hat when using the same modifier to get around this problem. I had been using xbox for TEDAC but much prefer hands on the sticks so having to move controls around. Not sure why those few george commands are not just in the PLT/CPG respectively as there are already duplicated george commands in the PLT and CPG as it is. Probably some technical reason I guess.. spike-ah64.pdf Edited May 27, 2022 by spikenet 1
Baldrick33 Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Using VR I only want to see the George interface when commanding the AI to do something, so I am happy just to switch it off which automatically frees up the Hat. So for me the DCS implementation works well. We have so many options with different hardware and software utilities that we can pretty much do whatever we like, just as you have achieved! 2 AMD 5800X3D · MSI 4080 · Asus ROG Strix B550 Gaming · HP Reverb Pro · 1Tb M.2 NVMe, 32Gb Corsair Vengence 3600MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · VIRPIL T-50CM3 Base, Alpha Prime R. spikenet Posted May 27, 2022 Author Posted May 27, 2022 Yep, I was curious why it was done this way but not hard to work around it
