Rongor
Item 20 in the cold start checklist: What's the point of this second test? 1. The LIDS caution already lit up in the preceding LTS TEST (item 2) 2. There is no 'wait' for the LIDS caution, it lights up in the instant you switch the LTS TEST, so what are the 5 seconds needed for? There is no delay, so I assume no circuitry is checked. sgtoinkz
I believe what was meant to be published was waiting for the FIRE Warning Lights to illuminate not the LIDS caution light. In the event of a generator failure on the ground, all warning, caution and advisory lights will go offline. Pressing the the COMP/LTS Test momentarily to LTS Test will restore the WRN/CTN/ADV lights. I've never had a generator failure on the Ground so wouldn't know if the full functionality is in the sim, nor have I pulled the GEN switch to OFF position with just the engine at idle to test this without the APU engaged? Aernov
IRL this LIDS caution light takes time to illuminate, thus NATOPS instructs to hold LTS TEST until it comes on. In DCS this behaviour is not modeled, but the guide was made with future features in mind (hopefully) or was based on real life one.
sgtoinkz
It would be a cool functionality eventually in the model. Maybe as the Marine Corps phases out the entire fleet of AV-8's we will get more in depth functions?!
