Hobel Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 (edited) is there a reason why CCIP for HMD no TD-box is displayed although it is still present in the HUD? PRE/CCRP, for example, this is also displayed in the HMD Edited June 23, 2022 by Hobel 1
Frederf Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 What weapon? CCIP doesn't have a TD because it's not that kind of delivery mode. I see PRE in the screenshot which is never any kind of CCIP. I'm confused exactly what you mean. 1

Frederf Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 No it's not. In CCIP there is no TD box and that's correct. 1

Frederf Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Diamond isn't a box. The diamond is the steerpoint. The X indicates it is outside the display area. 1 2

Frederf Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 There are some symbols which have "limit x's" on the HMCS but it doesn't appear the STPT/IP diamond is one of those symbols.
Bunny Clark Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 The TD Box is a square with a dot in the middle. It represents the location of your current target designation - hence "TD Box.” A diamond represents your current steerpoint. Its not uncommon that these are in the same place, and then you'll see both symbols combined. Oil In The Water Hornet Campaign. But my main Question was that the STPT diamond no longer shows the direction in the HMD. It disappears outside the field of view. And I think that is wrong. In the hud this does not happen. The STPT shows the direction with a small x outside the field of view in the HUD and that is correct. Edited June 17, 2022 by Hobel
Frederf Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 You might be right. I'm trying to see if I can see if steerpoint diamond with limit 'x' is something that should be displayed in NAV/AG-CCIP. I think it might be but I'm not sure.
verana_ss Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 (edited) At least up to this date JHMCS in DCS F-16 never had STPT locater (symbol with X) implemented all together with OA PUP. Hopefully in the future updates? @NineLine BIGNEWY Edited June 18, 2022 by verana_ss

Frederf Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 It says the STPT diamond is visible through HMCS during CCIP. My best estimate is that also means it is displayed with the limit-X when it's beyond the HMCS FOV.
