Laser9 Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 When doing a motor start in the A-10, at what point should fuel be introduced? Is there a specific N2 speed? Thanks
Solution jaylw314 Posted June 14, 2022 Solution Posted June 14, 2022 The normal automatic start sequence starts fuel flow once the engine starts rotating, so I suspect the answer is no.
Kippy Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 (edited) An engine being motored by the APU should reach 26% to 28% core RPM. Ensure you meet that spec before placing the throttle to idle. After placing the throttle to idle, fuel is provided after the engine starts to rotate. Edited June 14, 2022 by Kippy 163rd vFS Discord Soaring With the Snakes, Fangs Out!

Thanks The APU should get the core RPM above 24%, the reason you motor the engine though isn’t about getting the core RPM up it’s about getting the ITT down below 150 so you don’t get a hot start. The automatic start should take over from there 1
