Before buying this company I want to know - is it necessary to perform AAR in the company's missions or not?

You'll have to refuel on mission 1, and tankers are available for the remaining missions I've played, but have not had to use them.

You should try and get comfortable with it just the same if you aren't!

This is from the campaign guide. I couldnt AAR when i bought the original Raven one, but it actually taught me. Just make sure you get "cleared contact" and NOT "return contact" , and i found it easiest to activate the ATC (auto throttles) once matched with the tanker then u just have to fly formation (may take a few off/on's on the ATC to get same speed as tanker)

In the missions where AAR is absolutely crucial, the missions are split. Others can be done without, but they may be more difficult. In M1 you don’t need to refuel, you can skip it as it is only a training.

Having said that - I learned how to AAR when building this campaign and it is a very nice skill to have 🙂

If F/A-18 AAR had a difficulty rating, it would be:

Easy: KC-130

Normal: KC-135 MPRS (due to the jet wash)

Hard: S3B (due to the jet wash and the short hose)

I think all the campaign AAR is with the S3B.

If you are new to AAR it is best to begin with the KC-130 to get the hang of it.

Hope this is helpful
