This switch is located on the targeting control display panel, next to other Shkval functions.

I've heard that Shkval sensor only allow a Vikhr missile per launch, maybe two vikhr launched in a short time.

So, what's the utility of this selector? What situations do we have to use it?

Regards!!

The only toggle-switches on the Targeting Mode Control Panel are the Training Mode, K041 Power, HMS/NVG, Auto-Tracking and Laser Standby switch.

Which one are you referring to specifically?

It is for a weapon that the Ka-50 does not use in practice ;)

haha ok I see! I wish someday the-weapon-that-Ka50-shouldn't-ever-use would be a little more documented!

Among other thing, it can be used to guide the Kh-25ML. The Kh-25ML however is a much larger missile than the helicopter can safely handle, at least IIRC.

You don't really have enough laser time to do so effectively IMHO.

Hey thread! Welcome to 2016! :cheer3nc::cheer3nc:

Well; Again, today, is this Laser Code Selector working? Manual doesn't say "No Function".

If yes, how can we use it?

Thanks.

The laser range finder / laser designator mode toggle “ЛД-ЛДП” switch is located directly below the HSI and is set to the “ЛД” laser range finder position by default. [LSHIFT + O] When set to the “ЛДП” laser designator position, the laser can be used to designate targets for weapons such as the Kh-25ML, Kh-29L or laser bombs. The Ka-50 can search for a target and illuminate it for 20 seconds by a second press of the ENTER key. This switch does not affect “Vikhr” employment. Now if ED would just give is the laser code!
