Reggie Bigglesworth Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 The autopilot and the FCS are not working in my F18 . I have tried the deadzone adjustment without success . my X56Rhino is new and calibrated . indicators show that the system is active the aircraft just porpoises through 10 degrees + and- AOA the stabs don't seem to react I thought about uninstalling and reinstall but cant find a way to do it. Any help would be appreciated.
rob10 Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Post a short track showing the problem. You're likely missing something simple. Too slow speed and making sure your flaps are on AUTO would be first WAG items I can thing of. What indicator is it showing on the left DDI? A/P or BALT? If it's just A/P you're not in BALT hold, just a "damper" A/P mode (whose name I can never remember).
Drac Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Control Stick Steering (CSS) I believe is what you are referring to.. 1 1
Reggie Bigglesworth Posted July 8, 2022 Author Posted July 8, 2022 Thanks for the response. I have attached 4 shots for your info . Photo1 . FCS supposed to hold AOA , stated at slight climb but continued to lose altitude even with elevators showing up 15 (photo 2) Photo 3. Autopilot on BALT on and HSEL on but continues to climb even though elevators show down 11. (photo 4 ) Any thoughts.
razo+r Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 This does look wrong. You do not have the arcade / game flight model set to on, have you?
Solution Reggie Bigglesworth Posted July 9, 2022 Author Solution Posted July 9, 2022 Hi Razo+r. Well all I can say is Thank you Thank you , that has done the trick . I did have that flight mode activated . Switched it off and now all is right with DCS World. There is so much to learn. Thanks Heaps.
Dragon1-1 Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 They should deprecate that option. Not only does it fail at actually making aircraft any easier to fly, it actively breaks most post-FC3 modules. Game avionics break things, too. 2
