I usually run around 30FPS, which is good enough for me. When I look into a forest horizontally with the TV camera, the frames drop to around 10 FPS. If I slow the TADS off the forest the framerate returns to normal. When using FLIR the framerate is also fine.

Perhaps trees are not properly culled on the day tv camera?

Now i'm at work and don't remember my pc config but this is happening to me too.

I notice a huge reduction of framerate when in Marianas simply flying around, and in the Channel map when i selcet TV on my tads.. (both with Apache)

This is happening since new beta has released. I hadn't this kind of issue before.

not the issue I'm having. The issue isn't the 30 FPS, which I'm fine with. The issue is that I get 10FPS when I look into the woods with the TV camera.

I didn't have the 30FPS stuck problem either, yet it helped me with general FPS problems, so it would be worth a try.

can not reproduce? I even gave you a track file. I guess I'll have to provide a video as well.
Here is a video of the previously recorded track played back with the framerate counter present.

Looking at your settings and hardwear I'd hazard a guess that it's the shadow rendering/settings that is causing the issue. Shadows are REALLY taxing on the GPU. I'm running a 2080 and I have the main shadow setting at Low, and terrain object shadows at Flat only. You are running medium and then default (which uses the medium setting therefore). The FLIR picture won't have the shadow rendering, but when you point the DTV at a complex object (like a load of trees) you suddenly are asking the GPU to do a massive amount of extra work.

Even when I fly over the woods, or park right in front of them, the framerates are fine. Only when the camera is pointed at the woods near horizontally is when the problem is occurring. Even if the camera is pointing downwards over the forest it's fine. I can do nearly anything else and the game is running fine.

It's particularly bad when I'm flying and the camera just happens to be pointing horizontally in TV mode and I have the video underlay on one of the MFDs. If I turn that off it's immediately fine again, even though the very same woods (with the very same complex shadows) are right in front of my nose as I fly over them.

Edit: I have since upgraded to 64GB RAM @ 3200MHz, same issue still in latest openbeta (7th of January 2023)
