taikoJH Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Hey all, so, I've used my Vive Index for playing DCS in VR for quite some time now. Tinkering a bit with the settings, I found my sweet spot a long time ago and was very happy with it. No special shader stuff, no mods... just vanilla DCS with VR. Then due to time issues, I kinda dropped out of DCS for a couple of months. Two things changed during my DCS hiatus: I updated to Win11 I got myself a new 1440p monitor (scaling down from 4k to enjoy the higher refresh rate and an overall better pannel) Here's the issue... I now have awfull stuttering in VR. No matter what settings. I scale it down to a minimum (res and detail)... stuttering. I scale it up to max... stuttering (no surprise here). BUT... by the moment I unfocus the window on my machine ("Window out of focus") all is butter-smooth in my VR headset. Once I re-focus, the stuttering starts again. Playing without VR is smooth as always. What am I missing here? Is it a refresh-rate issue with my monitor? Or running HDR on my monitor? Tried to change refresh-rate and HDR, but to no avail. My specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 32GB DDR4 2666 ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING WIFI II NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Valve Index (it's not super-beefy, but should be good enough to run the damn thing in VR, as it was 3 months ago) Any suggestions? I'm out of ideas...
