Eagleflieger Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 Hi, how can I find all the targets on the ground I don't understand what they mean in the radio and can't find with pid and what does compont mean. I totaly hate when missions in DCS are made in a way that only in this case real Navy Pilots can unterstand whats mean in the mission I hope I get an answer.
sterny70 Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 If you read the manual, it's stated that this campaign ist for experienced users only. You need to know your Aircraft and procedures. There's also a dictionary included in the manual. Brgds Sterny
baltic_dragon Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 hey @CaptainLuisman - as sterny says, this particular campaign is rather for advanced users - because it was largely written by two former Hornet drivers. There is a readme file that should help you get acquainted with different terms, but don't expect to be guided by hand - you have to work hard on the briefings, read the kneeboards and prepare yourself before you fly. This is how it was designed and I understand that not everyone likes it. A nice alternative on the other side of the spectrum is a very good campaign called The Rising Squall by Inverted. But I sincerely hope you will return to Raven One once you get more Hornet experience under your belt and are going to enjoy it! For more information, please visit my website. Eagleflieger Posted August 30, 2022 Author Posted August 30, 2022 Ok roger, I will try to prepare my mission better next time, that was probably the reason. It’s like in IRL 60% Briefings and so on and 40% flying. So would guess it’s normal case that, the time to study the Briefing is 1 hour or more ?
baltic_dragon Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Not necessarily I think reading it carefully and going through all the kneeboard pages should be enough, really. And trying to become familiar with the code words. You can also always pause during the mission and check them For more information, please visit my website. Kreutzberg Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 It looks to me like the SAR Daily Page Code Words from the briefing PDF and kneeboard were not included in the in-game briefing, for what that's worth. It's probably just a minor bug. I was struggling with the code words for North, South, East and West, and didn't realize there was an extra page in the kneeboard package.
