StinkyWizard Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Hi. My GeForce 2070 has 4 outputs, all being used to push 4 monitors for DCS world (3 for 3D, 1 for Helios Interface), so all of my PCIe card outputs are used atm. I recently purchased a 2 pack of TM Cougar button boxes and they are great. The slide in templates are fine, but I'd love to attach a mini monitor behind each. My question is... how and where would I get 2 additional video outputs? My Intel PC has some Intel DP and HDMI outs, is that how this is achieved? Pop a second VGA card into the 2nd PCIe slot? Would this cause issues? Please advise, thank you!
MAXsenna Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Some screens can be driven by USB alone, and I think you can find adapters from HDMI to USB. 1
Buzzkillington Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 I’ve got a 3 way hdmi splitter on my onboard motherboard display and 4 projectors on my nvidia card, windows 10 is fine with it. 1
Gordy Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 I use three of these, which are driven just by USB. - they're a little bit bigger than the MFD button box, but they still work great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003LS95SG Pair with these stands, which are nice and solid, if you're just putting them on your desk. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07633JHLX I think you *can* add a second video card, just know that all of the work will be done by one of your two cards in DCS - make sure it's the better card. (I tried it).

jubuttib Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 There are small USB "GPUs" (people often call them adapters, but really they're small GPUs) that you can get, which is what I did. I managed to snag 2x J5 Create JUA330s for the price of one, then two DVI -> HDMI cables and some USB to barrel plug adapters to power the cheap LCD modules I got from AliExpress. Works a treat. Be careful though, trying to google for those you'll run into many "USB -> HDMI adapters" that are using the "DisplayPort over USB" method/standard, and these (afaik) only work when used with a suitable Type-C port, you can't plug them into any old USB-A port with an adapter. I'm not even sure how many desktop motherboards support this feature over their USB Type-C ports, or if it's mostly a laptop thing...
