FlightOpsAB Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Hey folks, I am looking at building some new helo models for BS and one of the aircraft I am considering is Mi-8. Did anyone on here attempt this before? I think it would be a cool aircraft to simulate some SAR flights? Any opinions?
Francous Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Well having a new 3D model is always great !! and if you are passionate about it you should do it, we will all benificiate from your work. Thx

Chukk Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 If I could suggest something. It would really be helpful for everyone if we all started our forum threads with the aircraft project title(nicely this one is). As this community continues to grow hopefully, so will the volume of models, this is not going to happen if we have 2 ,3 ,4 people unknowingly working on the same model! Plus I have been unable to find out what the Polygon limits are? Aircraft, vehicle and buildings? What are the texture/map sizes as well? 512x512, 1024x1024? Regards and TKS

AlphaOneSix Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Your model seems to have accidentally left on some covers. The small "exhaust" just in front of the engine exhaust where your screenshots show a red cover. That's the bleed air exhaust and it should not be covered. I may get more critical in the future, but before I do I would like to say that I (for one) appreciate your work and this is a great improvement over the current model. Keep up the great work! 1
Рустам Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Good work:) And how about Mi-17? He is the same as Mi-8,but only with wings for arms.

AlphaOneSix Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Good work:) And how about Mi-17? He is the same as Mi-8,but only with wings for arms. The model being depicted is the Mi-8MT, which is identical (except for the name) to the Mi-17. The only diffierence between the Mi-8MT and the Mi-17 is that the Mi-8MT designation refers to aircraft made for the Russian military (and the militaries of Russian allies). The civil version offered for export was labeled the Mi-17. All versions of the Mi-8/17 can be fitted with outriggers for external stores.
Рустам Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 All versions of the Mi-8/17 can be fitted with outriggers for external stores. Yes, this is what I am talking about) We need Mi-8 with external pylons (and if it possible, flyable :) ).
