S1KRR Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 I have random crashes in missions, free flight and training missions. It is not really predictable as sometimes it is in flight, and sometimes it is when I am listening to the instructions in a training. Windows and drivers are up to date, DCS runs latest openbeta. I tried disabling the WinWing lines in the export lua, to no avail. Sometimes DCS runs uninterrupted for hours. Th crash and trackfiles are quite big, so I shared them here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1TCSg0azLaqoX_kcqaoV1hM49j0mcq9bN?usp=sharing
S1KRR Posted September 8, 2022 Author Posted September 8, 2022 (edited) And another crash.....it becomes unplayable. 10 minutes into a mission and freeze > crash > back on desktop. new dump on link above. dcs.log Edited September 8, 2022 by S1KRR
Flappie Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Hi. Have you tried setting Windows power plan to "Best performance"? https://pureinfotech.com/change-power-mode-windows-11/ ---

S1KRR Posted September 30, 2022 Author Posted September 30, 2022 tnx both. Just came back from holiday and giving both advices a go. I'll let you know how it goes
Solution S1KRR Posted October 30, 2022 Author Solution Posted October 30, 2022 Gents.. First of all, sorry for the late reply. We have been struck with COVID, and it was not funny. As for the problem, I followed your advice... the shader errors are gone. thanks for that. As for the crashes, they initially seemed to persists with the same error. Even after setting the power plan to "Best Performance". Then I moved on and in the Nvidia settings, i created a profile for DCS, also setting the powerplan to "Best Performance".. still no joy Then I got an epiphany..... Thinking about Flappie's OC remark. Turns out I have the Aorus engine running for my graphics card and have the OC set to autoscanning. Looks like the app scans for OC opportunities during gameplay and adjusts the OC on the fly. turned it off and have been flying a few missions without crashes. Interesting enough, the iRacing frameskips I had seem to be gone as well. Thanks for the suggestions, pointers and help. I hope the above can be added to the "things to check" if someone runs into a similar issue.
