Phoenix not firing when trigger depressed for more then 3 seconds

I made a quick little mission to test out the Phoenix in TWS mode after the patch, but I'm having trouble getting them to fire more then one missile.  According to the manual and various tutorials, they normally fire when you squeeze Trigger Second Detent for more then 3 seconds.  However, that only seems to be working for the first missile.

If I release the trigger and squeeze again for three seconds, nothing happens.  I've literally squeezed the trigger for thirty seconds or more and got nothing.

I've attached a track file of this happening.  I squeezed the trigger multiple times for more then 3 seconds and only got one missile launch.

In TWS, you can only fire 1 missile per track, the next missile will be for your previous priority target 2, which is now the new priority target one and so on and so forth. If you want to fire more than 1 missile, you have to fire it in PDSTT, either twice in row in PDSTT; or TWS 1 missile, then lock PDSTT and fire another or more.

You don't need to depress the trigger for 3 seconds. Is that in the manual? If it is, it's wrong. You just need to pull and release. The weapon just takes 3 seconds to shoot. Pay attention to the hot trigger light. If it's lit up then you can shoot. If the light goes out there is no shot available, or the WCS is in the 3-second process of shooting.

I should have four targets in this mission, maybe the formation is too close together for the AWG-9 to resolve as separate tracks.

EDIT: it seems that was the issue, I tested it with more spaced out targets and it worked.

Also, joNay is right, I don't know how I misunderstood that.

Either it fired on prio2 or your prio1 target got re-established as a track, or you launched it plain and simple in the empty sky hehe.

there was only 1 other thing in the sky, its most likely the track got pretty much instantly reaquired and i didnt notice, can you even fire a phoenix at empty sky without using acm switch?
btw that 1 killed the bugger lol,

Hm, actually not sure, you would have to try, if you can fire it without a track, it's been ages that I tried and honestly can't remember now. But yeah, most likely it re-established your target as a new prio1 track then.

il test it to see how it behaves, it was me being hmafisted that broke the lock in the 1st place lol, end result was a dead hornet and a triumphant kittykat so it ended up as nature intended though lol
