I'm wanting to make CTLD / CSAR work with the new OV10 mod. Has anyone done this yet? I haven't yet tried it but I figured I'd ask here first to see if I'm going to run into any problems or there is anything critical, I need to know.

We're having a bunch of fun with the OV10 in my squadron and the enabling CSAR/ CTLD would be icing on the cake.

So if anyone has tried this, or has any tips or pointers I'd be happy to hear them.

Thanks guys.

it would not be much use as CSAR but maybe CTLD , for CTLD to work it needs an entry for the Bronco and some weight parameters set

Yep you have to add it to the units area in the script. One uses the Model Name (it says add model name in the comments) and the other is the Unit name. (The second part is where u can choose to enable crates and /or troops deployment) I set it to false for crates (obviously) but true for troops . Obviously u can't air drop them until the developers of the mod enable air drops (much like the herc team did for their mod) I hear it's coming in version 2.0 of the bronco.

Oh also make sure your broncos unit names are also listed in the helicargo part of the list u can either type helicargo in the unit name or make your own (I called mine bronco 1 though 5).

I'll paste my script snippet tomorrow I'm in bed ATM.

Why wouldn't it be useful in CSAR? You can land it anywhere. We've been flying it into farps, feilds, Tarawa, Carriers, etc. Obviously it's not going to work for water rescue stuff, but anything on land and it can probably get close

@Dscross It is useful in CSAR! You do you!  We have it working in CTLD & CSAR, and we even have paratroops dropping by patching the BRONCO and adding another script.  I'll drop my current lua script versions here, but be warned they are modified versions (in multiple ways) for use with squad  Liberation missions. The patch to add paratroops to the loadout is too large to share directly in the forum.  If you have questions send @ Hammer in the Split-Air discord and I can help you with issues.

Thanks for putting me right about CSAR with the Bronco , how many dudes could the bronco hold in the back cargo area?

And does anyone know how much cargo weight the bronco could carry ?

@HC_Official

One of the guys in my squadron got to jump from one in the army. 4-6 paratroopers, sometimes almost sitting on one another's laps could (barely) fit in the back. The height of the cargo area and the vertical stabilizer was designed so that a 1ton truck could back up to it and load straight across. A Broncho could also carry all it's own ground support equipment and tools in the back. I want to say that the cargo bay could carry about 3600 pounds Maybe 2 tons but I'm not 100% on that.

I asked the guy in my squadron about the jumps, he said it was just like the rumor, pilot pulled the nose up hard and everyone falls out...

Anyway there are a number of good (mostly correct) documentaries out there on Youtube, pilot interviews, observers, etc.
