chaos Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 (edited) ILS RWY22 is not working at Larnaca airport. Correct frequency (110.30) inserted. Dashed ILS bars on the F-16C HUD and no indication on the HSI. Edited September 14, 2022 by chaos "It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage..."

Dashed ILS bars on the F-16C HUD and no indication on the HSI. It works: Most ILS in DCS require certain conditions to be met for their activation. A bit of headwind usually helps: Edited September 15, 2022 by Minsky Dima | My DCS uploads
Napa Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 I'm having the same issue in Paphos. Entered the correct freq but the ILS needles don't respond. kablamoman Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Isn’t there a long standing bug where the ILS isn’t activated unless the winds in the mission favor that side of the runway? To the folks having issues: Double check that you’re not trying to fly the ILS with a tailwind. 1
Minsky Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I wouldn't call it a bug. A poorly implemented feature, maybe? Don't just pick a random runway and expect its ILS to magically work. At least check-in with the approach, and be aware of the wind direction. 2 Dima | My DCS uploads
Lace Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Disabling downwind ILS is not uncommon IRL, so not really a bug. Laptop Pilot. Recoil16 Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Either way. The ILS at both Larnaca and Paphos works as a general matter. Issues with ILS getting disabled depending on wind are a DCS core matter that is already reported. 2 Everybody said: "That's impossible!" Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it. Not being able to use it with 5 knots on the tail is pretty silly.

Can't argue with that. But I'm not sure they should spend time replacing their basic logic with something more sophisticated. Just do what every civilian sim does for decades: keep all available ILS active at all times. And let us selectively disable/re-enable them via ME/scripting. 3 Dima | My DCS uploads
