Just started messing with ACLS in our Multiplayer Flights, but I was conscious of all the reported incompatibilities with mulitple flights/wingmen and carriers. What's the latest word?

The first time we tried the other night this was the setup:

Supercarrier Host. 1 Client with SuperCarrier, 1 client without.

Both CVN-71 RSV and CVN-74 Stennis in the mission. (STN 336 Link 4, RSV, 349 Link 4)

Two of us launched off RSV and the other off STN.  Same Landing pattern.

Since nobody was VERY familiar with the process, I hesitated to ascribe the various encountered problems to bugs.  The only thing vaguely buglike thing was for ME when I tried to land. I got within 8 miles, got the CPL PR and the ACLS seemed to have control. It dumped me in the water about 3 miles from the Carrier. My fault for not realizing this and paddling out.  Might not have had the greatest lineup either..  Works fine for me Single Player in the same mission, actually with both carriers.

Will this setup work in Multiplayer, or not yet compatible with multiplayer/multicarrier OPS?

Thanks!

I posted this question two weeks ago and decided to delete the post as there was no response. I finally had to test it with a fellow flier and can confirm that ACLS is not available in multiplayer. My HUD was showing HSI instead of P/R.

Hey thanks for taking time to respond. Oddly enough, in my case it LOOKED like I got an ACLS lockon, but things were happening too fast and I was trying to talk others through it, so I can't be sure what I saw...until I landed in the drink  🙂 We were also trying to land on both STENNIS and SUPERCARRIER at the same time, so there were a lot of variables. Gonna give it another shot one of these days, but I trust your testing.

Still broken when other aircraft, either AI or multiplayer, are present and inbound to the carrier. At the moment, ACLS is only useful for training in solo missions, nothing more.

Unfortunately it seems this is so far down ED's priority list, I wouldn't hold your breath for a fix any time soon. Honestly, it probably shouldn't have made it to release with such an obvious bug present, but that's just my 2 cents.

I was told by ED, ACLS (F-18) is working in multiplayer.  Before I have my flight mates learn to use it, I'm awaiting independent confirmation from others that it works in multiplalyer.

Actually, the ACLS isn't working properly even in single player. From the very beginning, I didn't see the tadpole and getting the P/R ACLS message at all, not even once, if there where any other planes present in the mission.

I'm able to manage the ACLS to work only in a very sterile environment - if I'm the only plane in the mission. And that is not what I consider being fun.

So until they'll fix it so you could use the ACLS in a causal mission with some AI present, it's useless and not worth of trying.

Introduced in May, but basically broken on arrival. (Obviously no more than 5 min of testing was completed before release.)

7 months later, not even a mention of a fix in the works.

And the community managers wonder why, occasionally, customers appear to loose patience with ED....

I just flew with a buddy on multiplayer. The lead of a flight of 3 got tadpole and could do a coupled approach. The two wingmen got all correct indications up to the 6 mile point. Then, the wingmen got no tadpole and could not do a coupled approach. This seems to have always been the case for me in multiplayer. The lead aircraft always got everything and wingmen never did.

Additionally, on initial call to the boat by lead aircraft, wingmen got an atc popup with established and commencing as options. Same as since launch of ACLS.

Anything to report on this issue? @BIGNEWY

Thank you.
