DirtiByrd Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Has anyone found alternatives to Monstertech for mounting plates for Orion Joystick and/or Throttle? I would like to find an option that mounts to 40mm slots that I can buy separate from the extrusion pieces itself (i.e. just the mount, no more). There has to be someone else with a CNC that can cut and powdercoat 16-guage steel, right? All I have found are mounting plates with extrusion and desk clamps attached. Thanks in advance for any wisdom! <rant> Unfortunately, it seems like Monstertech is really under water and way behind on orders with no end in sight. I am reluctant to send them more money until they 1) improve communication on lead times, or 2) change billing to happen at the time of shipping. I think their products are world class, especially their chairs, but there is nothing unique or innovative about their system that justifies a built-to-order business model in 2022. I think I would be all-in with them if they had a more resilient supply chain. We all used to waiting a long time for our new Winwing gear and they are upfront on their site (for each product) what is in stock, what is coming, and what can be pre-ordered. Winwing bills me at shipping and my order arrives promptly thereafter. As a result, I feel confident pre-ordering and waiting for their products. Monstertech takes your money and provides no proactive communication, forcing you to beg for order status on Discord at which point they are very nice and helpful. Alighierian is a saint and his job would be much easier if they operated like a modern ecommerce operation and set expecdtation in advance of taking your money. </rant>
MadKreator Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Check out vkb strong arm mounts. Thats what I use. Granted designed for vkb gear, but I have an Orion throttle attached to the vkb warthog throttle mount.. and well ,my stick is vkb . The strong arm, gunfighter long mount is also good for attaching the24” touchscreen for helios, behind the stick 1 Intel i7 13700k, ASUS rog strix z790A, 64gigs G.Skill Trident DDR5 @6400Mhz, Nvidia RTX 4080FE, 2x 2TB Samsung M.2 NVME, 2x 1TB Samsung SSD, Corsair RM1000x, Corsair Titan 360 X AIO cooler, Lian Li LanCool 2, VKB Gunfighter Ultimate, VKB STECS , MFG Crosswinds, Track IR5, 48” LG UltraGear OLED & HP 24” touchscreen for Helios, Streamdeck XL, DCS-UFC App, Corsair Virtuoso RGB Headphones

It did take about a week to get a shipping notification. Shipping from Tampa, FL to Casper, WY got here in 3 days. Mounts are pretty great, but expensive. They don't come with a tool to tighten the bolts, I had to run to the auto parts store to buy the appropriately sized hex wrenches (another $15). Another annoying fact is the bolts that attach the plate to the bottom of the Cougar joystick are a different hex wrench size than the bolts that attach the plate to the throttle bottom - so you need at minimum 3 different sized hex wrenches. You can pop the plastic ends off the mounting part so you can access the bolts to make them easier to tighten down, else there's not enough room to turn the wrench to tighten them down. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase - but the $60 shipping seemed... a bit much, but the box and contents aren't exactly light.

If your order was below 116XXX you are stuck with your mounts coming from Germany. I ordered 32 days ago - just the HOTAS R & L mounts - and nothing has changed. I am glad they are ramping up their Tampa distribution center. It will ultimately help with shipping costs and delivery times. I'm $3000 in on extrusion cockpits and I have a set of metric keys strapped to the frame to make adjustments on the fly. Enjoy your mounts! Edited October 9, 2022 by DirtiByrd 1
dnick Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 I have the Zalem Table stand for hotas working fine for a year https://zalem.es/en/accessories/476-table-stand-thrustmaster-hotas-warthog.html. and competitive price vs Monstertech... I modified mine with an long vertical stand to the floor that allow having a nonger extension and gos up to the floor to reduce the stress on the table and will help me to hord the pedals once I design and 3dprint a support 2

LooseCannon Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 (edited) Have you looked at Foxx Mounts? I have them for my TM Warthog HOTAS and they are top notch and reasonably priced. I think the website shows a backlog of 3 weeks at the moment, but if you can wait, they're worth every penny. https://foxxmount.com/ Edited October 21, 2022 by LooseCannon 1

CybrSlydr Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Every time I'd tried to see Foxx's stuff, they were out of stick and weren't taking any orders. I would have gone with them instead of Monstertech if they ever had any stock.Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

I was fortunate when I ordered mine last year (on Cyber Monday) and received them within 10 days. The owner indicated fulfillment would take at least 2-3 weeks, plus shipping time. He's a small operation from what I gather, but I've been extremely pleased with the quality. Again, it all boils down to how long you're willing to wait. 1
