JCTherik Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 - Put two people into both seats, Pilot and CPG - Pilot disables Yaw AP - CPG assumes control - CPG steps on a pedal Expected behavior - helicopter yaws, CPG sees no Yaw AP input in RCtrl-enter, no yaw trim added by the Yaw AP Actual behavior - Helicopter yaws slow, because Yaw AP is fighting the CPG as seen in RCtrl-enter. When the Yaw AP is out of range, it starts to counter-trim CPG's inputs. This is especially a problem when flying with "Microswitch acts as rudder trim" settings, since there's no microswitch in the front, there's no way to undo the trim from the zombie YawAP.

AeriaGloria Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 (edited) when you say pilot disables yaw AP, do you mean turns whole channel off or only presses microswitches? I was able to fly in multiplayer in the front seat twice today with yaw AP off. As far as I understand it since there is no microswitches in the front seat, having yaw AP on while flying in the front seat means you can only it use in heading hold mode. Which will constantly trim you to maintain heading, which decrease authority of your pedal axis. It is instructed in the manual to always have Yaw AP off when CPG is handed the controls for this reason. This post is about this specific issue But if there is some other behavior it is likely a bug. When I flew in MP today I did not see the Yaw AP channnel move in the CPG seat (using R control + enter) as long as the pilot didn’t turn it on. I mean the entire channel was off. I will try to make a track when my buddy comes on, since the issue does not present itself when single and jumping to the front. It may be intermittent as well, although we spent few hours trying to get to a config where the CPG could reliably control the helo, with all kinds of microswitch behaviour setting and it was basically always trimming the CPGs inputs regardless of yaw AP status.
