Siinji Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 What button powers the HUD? I´m always waiting for HUD to initialise, but I want to to turn it on right away. Q2: Does the HUD "spool" up, even though generators are NOT running? But only batteries?
GGTharos Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 The HUD electronics need to warm up. It's sort of a CTR-style laser projector. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

diveplane Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 overhead panel also tells you when the hud is ready. yellow indicator =hud no ready , warming up https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
SunDown Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 (edited) Seems like its tied into the NAV switch next to the Main Hyd switch along the right wall panel. That is in addition to the K-041 switch. Edited January 8, 2009 by SunDown C Co 6-6 CAV USLANTCOM
RvETito Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 The HUD is part of RANET joint indication system and is activated via the K-041 switch only. The HUD is supplied from the emergency AC bus while the IT-23 TV indicator is supplied by the main AC bus, which means that on batteries you have HUD but no Skhval screen. Stingray Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Doesn't the HUD also not show up until the INU is ready?
miguez Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Doesn't the HUD also not show up until the INU is ready? Not as far as I know. If you turn INU off, you'll lose pitch lines, and a couple of other pieces of information in the HUD, but the HUD still works.
