bclinton Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Hi friends! A newb question if you have time. I am playing with a streamdeck and the A10....the instructions below say to install the keyboard diff.lua file into the keyboard folder. I did that but I wanted to check here to see if that's all I have to do with the file? The instructions say it has to be loaded into the keyboard bindings. Is placing it in the right folder all that needs to happen? Is there another step that I need to do after I copy it into the folder? "Each diff.lua is named for the specific aircraft. Each of these needs to be loaded into the keyboard bindings within DCS. For quicker installation, I recommend installing them here: C:\Users\NAME\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\AIRCRAFT\keyboard\"
LeCuvier Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 You don't specify for what purpose you want to "load" the .diff.lua files. These files capture the the bindings of commands to buttons/keeys/knobs on game controllers or keyboard that you have added, removed, or changed (like curves). So I could guess somebody provided such files and you want to copy them into the right folder. But guessing is not good enough to answer a question that doesn't come with sufficient background. Generally speaking though, a file for keyboard bindings should go to "...\keyboard\"; but a file for a game controller should go to "...\joystick\". 1 LeCuvier Windows 10 Pro 64Bit | i7-4790 CPU |16 GB RAM|SSD System Disk|SSD Gaming Disk| MSI GTX-1080 Gaming 8 GB| Acer XB270HU | TM Warthog HOTAS | VKB Gladiator Pro | MongoosT-50 | MFG Crosswind Pedals | TrackIR 5
Bailey Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 No, you must load it via the Options < Controls page. It does not *need* to go into any specific folder at all.
