Reccelow Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Hey Reflected, Just saw your video on Tomcat Case 1, nice job. Here is modifed file I've been using to increase the wake, makes it so much better and you can actually "put the wake under your left arm". Not my idea, I was following a thread a couple years ago about better visual effects and just kept toying with the settings people were discussing. Gives a good mile, mile and a half, wake on the SC at 30kts On my rig it goes in : "C:\DCS\Config\Effects\ParticleSystem2" so notfor the multiplayers. shipTrail.lua 5 1
Reflected Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Wow this is amazing! Thanks! 1 Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
Reccelow Posted October 26, 2022 Author Posted October 26, 2022 You're welcome, the difference it makes in Cat 1 approaches is amazing. The "crossing the wake" is a real SA boost for me. Keep up your excellent work, looking forward to the RAG 2 1
MAXsenna Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 @Reccelow Thanks! Could you tell what values you changed compared to Taz1004? I'm trying to compare. You should insert your own comments in the file you know!
Reccelow Posted October 26, 2022 Author Posted October 26, 2022 I cant recall exactly, I experimented on and off for some time (as I really don't understand what the values do...) Changing some would "cut" the wake in sections, some would make it stop and start. I just kept tinkering with it until it worked out to the way I wanted. Very much akin to the "infinite monkeys typing on infinite typewriters will produce a masterpiece..." methodology. I encourage anyone who understands the coding/scripting to keep going on it. Hopefully ED will incorporate the best results into a release for everyone. 1 1
Wavehopper Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Thanks for sharing this Reccelow, that is brilliant. Just did a couple of traps with your lua and it makes a big big difference turning to final. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCC9G7AVfi68SovXCTCH-7fA
