I just re-installed DCS. I saved my "inputuserprofiles" so I didnt have to go back through all of them.

After re-installing, I put the inputuserprofile folder into the DCS Config folder and then checked DCS to see if it recognized it. I saw no change so I used the load feature to load what I think is correct:

FA-18 Keyboard

FA-18 Throttle

FA-18 Stick

FA-18 Rudder

(Afaik I have to save a profile for each device)

So I loaded all of my prior settings. I went back to the config folder and I see my inputuserprofiles folder but there is now also a (new?) folder called "input" and inside of this is now a new F-18 folder.

I find this highly confusing. Can anyone explain what is going on with this?

Thanks.

Hi. I have no idea when you stopped playing DCS, but as far as I can remember, the Input folder has always existed. What changed a while ago was the introduction of the .diff.lua files.

Here's a quick explanation:

Default bindings for playable aircraft are stored in the core game files. Example: ".\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Input\FA-18C". This folder only contains ".lua" files. You DON'T want to mess with these, at all. Let's forget about them.

Custom bindings for playable aircraft are stored in your Saved Games folder. Example : "C:\Users\Flav\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\FA-18C_hornet". This folder contains ".diff.lua" files. They are created as soon as you start customizing your controls.

Now, I'm dying to know what kind of files are stored in the folder you call "inputuserprofiles". Please zip it then attach it here.
