C802AK tracks and kills helicopters on small RCS setting

The C802AK AShM will guide onto, and kill, helicopters when set on small RCS. This works in all submodes, DIR, COO and LOS. Seeing as the C802 is an anti ship missile, I dont think this is intentional behaviour. I have not been able to get it to guide onto fixed wing aircraft yet, but I imagine it may be possible.

i think it's due to min detectable rcs is 1.0

will investigate

I find this interesting becuase if you change RCS higher then anything flying, it will miss small boats amd obviously under perform compared to reality

If you make RCS higher then any helicopter, it might hit smaller boats and chase airplanes.

Isn’t this something that could actually happen? If someone is flying low in seeker when it goes active? Perhaps it’s a risk we must take……. Maybe the C-701/CM-802AKG have a buddy🤣

that's determined by how those ship RCS is set in game.

i.e speedboat in game has rcs 10, and some aircraft has larger rcs than it

I suppose it wouldn't work well in the mountains, and most jets would be able to get away, but I suppose in a pinch its better than nothing.

I mean, I doubt in reality the seeker can tell the difference. It just sees something that fits its ship parameter and goes, and helicopters are slow and low enough to do just that.

Perhaps there is other limits, but I don’t see what else there is in the missile to stop it going for airborne vehicles, and why the designers would even have such a scenario/restriction in mind.
