450Devil Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Not sure if this is a bug. I was flying back to the carrier using Autopilot and TCN. When I was within 50 NM I called Inbound and received the normal reply which included the carrier's recovery course. When I tried to set the Course line (carrier's course less ten degrees) on the HSI using the Course Setting Switch on the MPCD the aircraft immediately banked towards the course I was setting. It appears the Autopilot CPL is not independent of the Course Setting Switch.

Harker Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Not a bug. If you have set up a course, CPL will attempt to intercept the courseline and get you to the destination, on that course. If you want to use CPL to fly straight to the destination, don't input a course (or input one that will fly you directly there and change it later).
