Dangerzone Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 I was wondering with the free camera view (CTRL+F11) when moving forward - is it possible to change the direction of the camera without changing the direction of travel? An example of this would be having a vehicle travel down a road, and I have my camera coming up from behind as though I'm in an overtaking vehicle. I want my travel to keep going straight down the road, but I want to change the direction the camera is looking to pan the shot as I move past. So far everything I've tried ends up changing the direction of travel to where I'm looking. Not sure if I'm missing something basic - or whether this is not possible.
Eldur Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Not possible AFAIK, unless you're in VR and looking to the side then. Would be awesome for video creators though... 1
Devrim Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 (edited) I have no chance to test, so I want to ask: While moving forward what happens if you look at the right or the left side via headtracking (not mouse)? I'm not sure. I don't use headtracking myself. I'm a VR user (but don't use VR when recording due to the headshake). If it's possible with headtracking I would have hoped it's possible with a keybind or axis as well. The lack of responses here seems to indicate that it's not possible though, otherwise I would have expected a response with a solution by now.
Solution Ironhand Posted November 7, 2022 Solution Posted November 7, 2022 (edited) You can do it with TrackIR. To address your example, though, the easiest way to do it would be to set up an AI vehicle to overtake the “target” vehicle and use it as your view platform. So there's no way to do it without 3rd party peripheral like TrackIR. Strange that TrackIR would work, but there's no AXIS we can bind. Anyway - at least I know now. Thank you.
