Moxica Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 (edited) Sometimes, especially near landings it seem, the rudder pedals seem to be glued to the centre position (or have fallen asleep right there.) I'd have to push to extreme left/right to kind of activate them. And then the first movements are jumpy. After that "wake up" push they work normally, but it often mess up my landings. Not sure if some USB port setting or DCS bug. What do you think? ALso make sure to use FTR to give computer position to aim for. 1
Moxica Posted November 4, 2022 Author Posted November 4, 2022 (edited) Thx, admiki! I allways turn off force trim (FTR?) on landing approach., sometimes re trim stick right. If it is SCAS, one could say it aint doing me any favours atm. Floyd1212 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Pull up the Controls Indicator at the top left of the screen and see if your pedal action when it appears "stuck" is actually moving the white diamond. If it isn't moving then there is an issue with your pedals. If it is moving, and the green line is fighting you, then that is the SCAS trying to keep your heading for you.

I do that, and the indicator does not move until I put it to the extreme left or right. The calibration program/driver interface does not indicate any stickyness, nor spikeyness.. Also, I havent noticed any such behaviour in, say ground steering in the F-18, A-10 or F-16. I still will not rule out any culprit. (Because my PS3 controllers sometimes does not give any input at all, and I have to re connect to fix) Edited November 5, 2022 by Moxica ASUS ROG Strix B550-E GAMING - PNY GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming VERTO EPIC-X - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - 64Gb RAM - 2x2Tb M2 - Win11 - Pimax crystal light - HP Reverb g2 - Oculus Quest 2 - Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS - Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder - 2X Thrustmaster MFD Cougar - Audient EVO8
Floyd1212 Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 What kind of pedals are they? Spring or no spring? What trim mode do you have set for pedals in the options?
Moxica Posted November 5, 2022 Author Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) They are CH Products pro pedals with springs. I believe I have default trim mode. Have to check when I get home. I'm staying in a cabin in the mountains at the outermost southwest, point of the upcoming Kola peninsula map this weekend. Floyd1212 Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Doing some deep-cover recon, are you? Maybe your pedals aren't returning to center and the sim is ignoring their input until you do so? Doesn't explain why they all of a sudden respond when you go to extreme left or right. It sounds a lot like a hardware problem. 1

Sometimes, if I trim, SCAS kinda nullifies it by dragging that trim point against, and all the way to center. SCAS is mostly working against what I want. Schlomo1933 Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Pls be shure which trim method u use: for the pedals standard or center trim. if u have center trim: than u need to move your pedals to center after using the trim. All new movements are cancelled out before u recenter the pedals. After centering movement will be active again.
