RichardG Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I want a flight of helos to hover in one spot until out of fuel, then RTB. For the love of God, the editor will not allow this. Can someone explain this cryptic clunky thing to me?
ZaltysZ Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) Currently, AI flights can't refuel and rearm. If you wan't to force them to landing because of Bingo fuel state, try to set low speed or make a loop. Edited January 14, 2009 by ZaltysZ Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
Wheelyy69 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Speaking of this, is it possible (using triggers or so) to tell a group to wait at a place, until another group is dead, for example ? Would be useful to tell strike aircrafts to wait for the helo's to take out the SAM's :) [sIGPIC]http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/img/userbars/DCS_Ka-50_Pilot_UB12.gif[/sIGPIC]
RichardG Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 I dont want them to rearm, or refuels. I want them to hover, overwatching a position until mission ends, or they land for lack of fuel. Dont want em moving, or looping. (speed is zero)
Rhino4 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 if setting speed at zero is no good try setting speed at 1 to have them craaaawwwl...
RichardG Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) I give up. Ya telling me this helicopter simulator doesnt have a "hover" waypoint command? Edited January 14, 2009 by RichardG
MBot Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Currently it is not possible to let units wait. As Rhino4 said, you can set their speed to 1 kph at the certain waypoint and adjust distance to the next waypoint to adjust the time you wish them to hold position. 1 kph is as good as a standstill.
RichardG Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 That works pretty good, thanks for the help.
Rhino4 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Ya telling me this helicopter simulator doesnt have a "hover" waypoint command? LOL. You hit the nail on the head m8. :megalol:
DTWD Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Setting a speed of 1 and two loop points a metre or so apart is as good as a hover to be honest. In fact you want to use loop points anyway as the AI will then re-act precisly as you want. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
