It would great with a save and load function for triggers and lists of triggers.

If this isn't allready possible. The only way I've found is that you could take the triggers out of the missionfile.

First become an aviator, then become a terminator

triggers usually reference units, zones and files (sounds, pictures, scripts), so any Save/Load function would need to save those too.

The save feature could be limited to flag triggers or something if that's a problem, but also just allowing triggers to reference generic stand in items would be a benefit. That would allow you to create a trigger before the required unit is on the map and not have it disappear when you close the trigger menu.

Setting up triggers is a big time investment for me and they tend to be similar mission to mission, so if I could just import from an existing list I think it would save a lot of time.

Hey Rudel 🙂 Long time, I'm still messing around with cockpit-triggers:p

Yeah, it takes a lot of time to set them up. I have a notepad with all the triggers, and the different values for the triggers, to make the process as easy as possible, or I reuse/repurpose a previously made missionfile. I'm pretty sure you all have the same methods, or even better ones. Regardless, it's still a bit of a hassle.

Having the possibilty to save triggers, and groupes of triggers, as templates would be incredibly handy:)

As you both mentioned, triggers are usually tied to triggers-zones, units and conditions. However, I'm pretty sure it would be possible to make it so that these aspects are "blanked" when you save a trigger/groupe. So that when you load a templete, the various ties to zones, units and conditions have to be filled in. Or, that all the data is saved in the templete, they're just not tied to anything, so you have to edit what they should be tied to.

I believe that the simplest way that ED can implement this, is to extend the concept of static templates (which already save units and their waypoints) to include zones and triggers too.

Hello.

I've found Excel most helpful with columns and rows, than Notepad .
If i undestood correctly: for now you can pass the condition values
to be checked in a redireted function from actions field. Flags mostly.
