Hi there, I  build a PC for the dedicated server.

I downloaded and installed the last openbeta release, made a server up and running and connect it with the webgui.

All was ok, I selected one mission and the server is running, from the sim pc on my network I can see the server in the server list and join it, but all my friends can't see it with the name and if the try to use the IP receive the message " server offline" . The pc have a static ip and on the router I forwarded the ports 8088 and 10308 for tcp and udp for this specific ip address, the firewall is also open for the dcs server exe and for all the ports.

Any guess ?

I had another part to the puzzle, if I do a multiplayer server from my simulation pc everything is functioning and my friends can see the server.

It can only be something blocking it.

check ports

check antivirus

check firewall inbound and outbound

DCS uses outgoing connections to

HTTP http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com:80

HTTPS http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com:443

XMPP master.eagle.ru:5222

For multiplayer game traffic DCS uses both TCP and UDP on port 10308

For Voice TCP and UDP on port 10309

webgui_port = 8088

That is what I think but all is opened, here are the screenshoot from the w10 firewall and the router

And why is I create a server on my sim pc in multiplayer all is ok ? They use the same ports or not ?

Should my computer must have a public IP ?

You have at least to try to remove the rules made automatically by UPnP, unless I suspect that router doesn't know exactly where he have to forward traffic incoming from port 10308.

So try to delete UPnP rules and disable UPnP and try it again

But why the server created inside the multiplayer area of dcs in the sim computer is functioning without any problem ?

The UPnP rules are for the simulator computer that is functioning ok, the other two I made myself for the server that have a fixed IP

Client doesn't need a port forward to works. You can safely remove them.
My suggestion is to disable UPnP feature, and remove the automatically generated rules, and leave only the manual port forward to your dedicated server..

Andrea

That solved my issue, the 2 rules for the sim computer and for the server computer have a conflict. So as suggested from Mav iI deleted the UPnP ones and all is working now.

To have the possibility to host server on both computers I changed the server port to 10208  and keep the 10308 for the sim computer
