Ramstein Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I was looking to build new mission with maps, but can only find the one map that comes up. I cannot find new maps on any mission building menu. I can, however, take an existing mission and re-use that map. Where are the new maps? Also, when I go to build a mission I cannot figure out how to zoom in on the map while adding objects. Thanx.. Weta43 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 There is one map - from the edge of the crimea to turkey. Roll your mouse wheel. When you roll out you'll find the other "maps" used for other missions - or just grab the map by holding fown the mouse button & drag it around. Cheers.
Ramstein Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) ............... When you roll out you'll find the other "maps" used for other missions. ?? huh? I don't understand that... roll out??? I know other missions use other maps, but there are no new ones. Only that one map appears in builder and no more are offered and/or selectable. Also, I took that map and went to add trains. That was confusing... there are several cars, and the electric automotive. You can't zoom well enough to place the train cars very well, you can't choose a whole train... only seperate cars... etc.. maybe they just automatically jump onto the tracks when you place them on/near the tracks on the map? Also, the only train stuff you can add is is 'Static'. I don't see dynamic, whole, moving..... I just don't understand.. But then, when I started the mission to play it, I found there are trains sitting at train stations and then there was a full train running up and down the tracks. I can't tell which train and cars are the ones I added..it's just plain confusing this map builder. note: I am used to buidling maps in IL-2, Falcon 4, LockOn, and other flight sims... ericinexile Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 That's what Weta is trying to explain. There is only ONE map but it is very extensive and, compared to IL2, Falcon, etc., very detailed. AFAIK, moving trains are by schedule only (a very bored enthusiast will have stations and departure times posted eventually). Ramstein Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 Ok,, I think I Understand this one map.... all the maps are derived from this one map, it's how you take a piece of it to make your mission.. Thanx for the explanation about the map... I really thought there were lots of small maps... or at least different sections selectable.. :smilewink: But, I am still very confused about the trains and what is available... and how they are suppose to be added.. etc.. ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR

Ramstein Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 so, whever we see train tracks, there are running trains...? If you stay around long enough, you will see a train zip by?? BTW, the train I saw running down the track was a freaking passenger/box car train... maybe some cargo, but I did not see flatbed cars... :joystick: ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR

Weta43 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) You can't specifically add trains, but you can adjust the density & randomness of civilian traffic, road & / or trains (might mess up the timetable above though)): (doc by 666th Birdy)civ traffic parameters.txt Edited January 19, 2009 by Weta43 Cheers.
