Hey guys. Just wondering with the bricking Warthog throttle issues that some have experienced if there’s has been any known reason that it happens.. Sounds like a possible power surge is one the culprits...

Is there anything you can do to prevent this? Sounds like some people have recommended plugging in the hotas and throttle when the system is booted up and running then disconnecting it before shutting the computer down.

Any feedback would be great.

I wonder if this is somehow user error? I've used the Warthog since it was released and owned 6 of them. Never had any problems. I just bought another one two days ago and should get it today.

Wasn't bricking more common in the very first serial numbers / revisions, though, and less likely to happen nowadays?

Mine has been working for 8 years now without that issue (knocks on wood), but for what it's worth I admit I don't have it plugged in constantly. Not owning a dedicated, separate gaming rig I plug all my controllers while the PC is already running and then disconnect them before shuttng down.

I think that's a thing of the past with early Serial #'s.

If it still was a thing, bet that THIS forum would know it.

Mine bricked the other day....not happy.  Only had it for 4 years.  Read into it a bit, and it may be related to the powered usb hub that I had it connected to and power surges mentioned above (although the hub was connected to a power surge protector).  I also left it plugged in a lot to the system on the weekend and the system would sleep on and off.  Anyway...used my Amazon Christmas Gift Card on a new one.  Expensive piece of equipment to only last 4 years.  If I didn't love it so much I'd find another.
