solved No access to communication menu after 2.8 update

I just updated DCS to 2.8 . When I went into DCS I noticed I had no access to the Communications menu. Upon further research I discovered that part of the problem was Vaicom. I uninstalled Vaicom I deleted all folders I could  find created by Vaicom. I did a slow repair and still I have no access to the communications menu. Anyone else have any suggestions that I have not tried. The com. menu does not work with buttons assigned to my hotas or  key board keys. And does anyone know whet is going on with Vaicom. I know the guy Hollywood is no longer involved with it so is the entire app dead and the money we spent on it wasted or is someone else going to take it over. Hopefully the people who purchased it in the past are not going to have to buy it again.

Rejoice! Hollywood accepted to make VAICOM and open-source software, which allowed some kind members of the DCS community to make it compatible with DCS 2.8.

Hi I have downloaded the new community Vaicom and installed it. I still have no access to the Communications menu. Any ideas?

Look into your "Saved Games/DCS.../Scripts/Export.lua" file. There might still be some calls to VAICOM scripts. If you need help with the file, attach it here.

Hi. Happy New year. Thank you for your help. There shouldn't be any reference to Vaicom. I changed the name of the saved games DCS folder and the game created a new folder. Vaicom is no longer on my system. And I checked the new DCS folder as of yet there is no script folder. I still have no access to the communications menu.

OK, so you did a slow repair AND renamed your "Saved Games/DCS..." folder. I'm short of ideas.

Do you have a multi-monitor setup? Please reproduce the issue and attach your dcs.log file.

Yes I did a slow repair. I just have a single monitor set up. I attached the log file. I have a feeling I may have to uninstall DCS and reinstall it. Again thanks for your help.

Ok do you think that reinstalling maybe the only option? Is there any way of fixing those errors?

Is your \ key working at all?

If so, please open a support ticket: log into DCS website, click Support, then Create a new ticket.

Yes. The key is working. I have used 2 keyboards with the same result. I have already opened a ticket. The things suggested so far have not worked. . I am waiting after new year holidays maybe they will come up with other means of fixing this. Meanwhile I have uninstalled DCS again. I have deleted all files associated with DCS am now reinstalling DCS. 2.8. If this does not work I will reinstall 2.7 and  and use it until a fix is discovered. I can't believe I am the only one having this problem. If that is the case then the problem has to be something with my system. But what? I don't want to do a complete system reformat.

Ok thank  you for all your help. I have reinstalled everything and everything seems to be working fine now. I have even reinstalled the new vaicom and it seems to be working fine as well. Again thanks for all your help. Much appreciated.
