bofhlusr Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Absent a way to check the status of the speed brake in the console panel or HUD, I'd like to see the speed brake status outside from inside the cockpit with one press of a keyboard or joystick combo button or one button? Is there a way to save a view to a button? For example to the Ctrl+1 keyboard combo like in Microsoft Flight Simulator? Thank you. Yes, create a Custom Snap view, they are by default assigned to the keycombo LWin + Numpad X, where X is 0, 1 ... 9, but can also be assigned to a button. Do not use the 5, as it corresponds to the default center view. Once created, save the snapviews with RAlt + Numpad 0. Please note that Custom Snapviews are ten per aircraft, each aircraft gets 10, so be sure to be seated on the A-10C before creating the snapview. 1 1 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

Also, can you clarify the phrase..."can also be assigned to a button"? Does that mean I can assign it to any keyboard key or any joystick button or does it have to be assigned to a numpad key? In the future, I might end up installing the sim to a laptop for offline play during vacation and the laptop does not have a numpad key. Solution bofhlusr Posted January 9, 2023 Author Solution Posted January 9, 2023 @Rudel_chw I just did a test. The LWin + Numpad X combo works. Now how do I assign that key combo to a joystick button? I'm using the Logitech 3D Extreme joystick. Thanks. Never mind. I figured it out. Thank you very much. 1 Win Pro 10, A-10c (rarely used, but started with Falcon AT!), P3D v4 (100+ add-ons mostly ORBX), i7-8700k, 16 GB 3200 Mhz RAM, Gigabyte Z370M DS3H, Corsair water cooler, EVGA SuperNOVA Gold 650W, PNY GTX 1070ti, Dell 27" G-sync monitor, Logitech 3D Pro, NVMe OS drive, TB's of free space on SSD.

The snapviews were designed for DCS at a time when most people didnt had headtracking, so it was designed to be mapped onto the numeric keypad, like if it were a joystick 8-way Hat 7 8 9 4 5 6 1 2 3 0 On your case, you would use the Numpad 4 and 6, setting the custom view so that each corresponded to a view towards the respective wing tip. 1 hour ago, bofhlusr said: Also, can you clarify the phrase..."can also be assigned to a button"? By default, DCS maps the snap views to Left Win +`Numpad 0 to 9 ... but that's just a default, you can change the keys and use other, or you can in addition map joystick buttons. 1 hour ago, bofhlusr said: In the future, I might end up installing the sim to a laptop for offline play during vacation and the laptop does not have a numpad key. Consider adding an external numpad to the notebook, like this: 1 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
