As the title says, getting a lot of crashing in VR using either OpenXR or standard non OpenXR shortcuts.

Seen a few posts of others having the same issues. Its not my hardware and i only just started happening since enabling OpenXR. Once disabled i seem to be getting the same crashes.

hello. see below for one solution.

  1. Go To Windows Search
  2. Search Regedit
  3. Right click and select run as administrator
  4. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  5. Open SYSTEM
  6. Open CurrentControlSet
  7. Open Control
  8. Click GraphicsDrivers
  9. Right Click And Select New In Windows Registry
  10. Select DWORD (32-bit) Value
  11. Type TdrLevel (Write it exactly T and L should be capital)
  12. Double click on TdrLevel
  13. Make sure value data is 0
  14. Now restart your pc

take a look at this link. on the page there are several tips for this type of error.

Thanks, i did a repair and it seems to have fixed the issues with the IC. so far its holding up. I also had a very mild overclock on the GPU so i removed it as per the FAQs.

ill report back soon.

DCS always crashes for me after a while if I OC, even with tiny OCs.

Just to report back,

I added the regedit DWORD as suggested above and I also removed the small OC I had on my card which actually stoped the errors in the DCS log and prevented any further crashing.

thanks for all your help 👍

I've had similar issues **recently**

ED's advice:  (a) remove those pesky mods (b) you have a bad video card

(c) I don't think it's either.

edit:

I had a mission where I removed ALL client and player aircraft and just let it run.

It ran fine.  But as soon as I set one of the aircraft to "player" or "client", then about 5-10 minutes into flying...freeze then crash.

Other AAA games with extensive hardware requirements run fine.

DCS:  stop blaming my hardware.  It's not me, it's you.

hello. you should start a new topic. piggybacking on a solved topic may get ignored.
