tangobravo Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Hi guys, I've just replaced my faulty G2 cable with a new V2 cable, have any of you had any issues doing this, I've tried all ports etc uninstalling/reinstalling WMR etc but I keep getting the 1-4 error please check your cable, when I reconnect the old cable it's recognised no problem. Any help greatly appreciated.
Burt Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Sometime you have to just power the G2 down wait a few seconds then power back on with that lovely little power button. jurinko Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 I had to stop using my PCIE powered hub (worked with v1 cable) and put it into normal case USB port, probably 3.0.
tangobravo Posted January 31, 2023 Author Posted January 31, 2023 Thanks for the reply guys, I connected up a powered display port adapter I had and it's worked, don't know why it didn't work just connected straight to cards DP ports. 1

I usually keep mine unplugged (power) and everything else connected before booting up my rig. For some reason, occasionally I would get '7-14' when booted up. Unplugging and re-plugging would wake it up every time. It happened regardless of how I set the startup in WMR. I'm actually able to use my rig's USB 'c' port directly instead of going through hub, which was necessary on my old setup. So far, I didn't have to replace the cable but I did get a scare once after I dropped the set. I had to unplug the cable from the set, then REALLY make sure it's plugged in properly. The connector could be finnicky. Edited January 31, 2023 by oldcrusty
steveropa Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 I just replaced mine, and was getting just as frustrated. Turned out that what i though was "all the way in" for the plug on the headset side, was not. Once I got it seated all the way in, well past where I thought it would be, I was good. Also, you probably already did this, but make sure the power button is on.
