trevoC Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Hoping someone can help. In BS2 if you press H you get the targeting reticle which you can use to aim In BS3 if you press H (also with the actual switch on left console) it seems to turn on a night vision mode. I can't seem to get the targeting reticle. Any help greatly appreciated. Solution Iron Sights Posted February 3, 2023 Solution Posted February 3, 2023 Change your helmet mounted device using the ground crew. I didn’t realize this at first, but that is the issue.
trevoC Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 Do i have to do this every time I start? Seems like the targeting reticle would be the better of the two as a default helmet unless maybe at night which few missions are. I'll try this though, thanks for the input. Akiazusa Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 (edited) No,I think it's based on missions. Some missions may have your default device set to NVG.It could be changed by the mission creator. Edited February 3, 2023 by Akiazusa Kyoto Animation forever!
GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 There's that option (...) on the right side of the ME page to select your preference. I think if you select Auto and your mission is at night (not sure what the exact hours are), you will get the NVG. When you are already in the mission, only the ground crew can change it for you. trevoC Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 Silly question then, I always initiate my camera with the H key and then holding down to find the spot I want to target (can't remember the name because its just bound to my hotas) How do I initiate the camera etc... when on NVG mode? I guess there is no way to quickly move the targeting cirlce to where you are looking, I have to just slew? Yes,the NVG is just a night vision device along, not a head tracking device with NVG capability. So you have to slew in the traditional way. Kyoto Animation forever!

There is the "SHKVAL Centre" control which will centre the targeting circle on the nose of the aircraft, so you can point the nose at the target and press centre for quick acquisition. 1
