Hi,

First of all - AWESOME JOB!!! I'm having a blast! THANK YOU!!

Second thing - I would like to re-fly certain scenarios without wasting 40 minutes on startup and fly to the range. Please add the option to SKIP at spawn and jump into the action.

Moreover, an F10 option that allow you to go back/forward to any submission in the sortie - would be awesome as well.

That would benefit those who flew the whole mission and now want to practice certain skills but don't have the time to do the whole cold start>to the range.

THANKS!!

Hi Nick,

Thanks, I'm glad you're having fun with the campaign! If you select the 'skip ahead' option in mission 1 that will answer your question 🙂 But I also do on page 8 of the campaign intro documentation pdf, as well as this video:

TL;DR: Nope, sorry, it's never gonna happen.

If you wanna revisit any specific tasks, you can easily open that particular mission file and play it separately. But within the campaign, there's no way I'll let people skip ahead. Even the 'boring' parts are full of tasks learned in previous lessons that the player needs to practice in order to become a combat ready virtual fleet pilot. E.g. I'm seeing a lot of YouTube playthroughs and came to realize that a lot of players still can't do a proper overhead carrier break, even though Paco walked them through it in mission 1. And this is just one example. The 'admin' is an important part of military aviation, it's not skippable in real life, and in S&A it's set up with hundreds of voice overs and triggers to make it as realistic as possible in DCS, so make the most of it and try to enjoy those parts. The more time and energy you invest in a mission, the more realistically you'll fly it, and the more immersive it will become. 😉

Regarding the "overhead carrier break" -I think that you can use the community for that. With all do respect, the verbal explanation simply ain't enough. I've looked YouTube videos and researched more in depth on how to do it. Same for many tasks. Overtime, when more YouTube videos will emerge + perhaps we as a community will create special TACVIEW/YOUTUBE videos that will explain and demonstrate certain tasks - you'll be able to link them inside the official briefings or in this forum...

Regarding the skips - ok. No problem. Thanks!

He does a pretty good job of it, except flying downwind 10 degrees off course, (the reciprocal heading of 210 is 030) thus ending up too close abeam and overshooting the runway a bit, and also he flared, but it's still as per Paco's instructions. I've seen people trying to land on different runways, not even 21L, but 03R, or breaking with no speed brakes, not idling, not dirtying up at the given speeds, etc... that's what I meant.

Can you make it possible to repeat the tasks in the first mission? It is kinda annoying to have to repeat the ENTIRE thing to try each maneuver twice only. I get preventing people from skipping but it'd be nice to repeat them like with the formation flying in Mission 2.

2nd request, for the formation flying in mission two can you make it so that I can skip the briefing on how to fly in formation? Every time I reload the mission I have to listen to Paco telling me how to do it for 3 minutes before I can continue practicing. It's not the biggest deal, it's just a bit annoying. It'd also be nice to remove Paco's commentary while practicing (minus comments that correlate to your grade, IE "you're too far away, line up those ventrils".

I guess what I'm saying is that I'd like a sandbox to practice the skill repeatedly until I master it once I get to that part in the mission.

Actually your 2nd point made me think, and I came up with a solution that would be relatively easy to implement. A few hours work. So any time during the briefing you can skip it. Although I HIGHLY recommend not to do it (if you messed up it's probably because you missed something important), but when you refly the mission for the 4th time it's a welcome addition. I'll add this feature to MIG Killers too. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks! I didn't know I could speed up the dialogue with time compression!

I think one of the reasons I suck tho is because I don't fly in VR and from what I've heard getting that extra sense of depth really makes it much easier. That said I still want to get as good as I reasonably can.

Also, I straight up can not see the RIO explosive mark to align the intake with, so I have to guess roughly where it should be.

Lastly and mainly this, I just need to practice more.

Thanks for adding this feature in your latest update! It's been an absolute game changer and I really appreciate it!
