good news.

The latest beta version 1143 has basic DCS support for flaps, g-force, speed air break, landing gear, gun fire, stall and ejection. SimShaker has extra Engine and ground effects but native support is always a good thing.

Yes, that‘s good news ……a starting point for more I hope.

sounds like it‘s actually more suitable for fixed winged. Hopefully helicopters get attention as well.

I picked up the MF8 a few weeks ago. Worked great with the Huey using sim shaker. Curious to see how it will be using the native software amd getting all 8 transducers going.

Yup mine does the same when firing the gun.

And @TimSell75 if you guys have not found a solution yet, try this, as I had the same problem:
Export your settings to another folder or desktop, reset settings database in the settings tab, then reimport your settings.

Before I did this the HF8 only gave me G forces and 1 sec gun bursts, after doing this all my settings from previous Jetpad was working.

Thanks a lot, I will try. I actually solved it by an additional bass shaker which I power via the Simhaker Sound Module extension.

So the pad works with Simshaker limited to 6 engines?

How does HF8 work with the Apache module?

It took a lot of effort, I finally found a video review of the pad with Apache.

There is no support for the rotor effect yet, or is the video already an older release?

I didn‘t understand why the vid‘s creator didn‘t have the rotor high and g effects on. Did he say he can‘t activate this or he didn‘t want to by himself?

I have both effects active.

The new beta 1155 version has better DCS support. I see it on discord (abb. on the beta channel).  It is still basic, but it works now out of the box the 1143 version doesn't (don't forget to give your firewall permissions to the HF8 software. Flaps, g-force, speed/airbrake, landing gear, gun fire, stall and ejection effects are supported.

Mine arrived a few days ago. Using Simshaker. HF8 software is still pretty basic. Can someone confirm that it seems to cost some CPU performance?

And gun fire makes the front motors stuck in permanent vibration. F16. Any ideas? I disabled gun feedback for now.

Crashing the aircraft seems a part of the permanent virbation error. But also gun fire. Disabling gun feedback in the F16 does the trick.

But I jumped in my F86 and it also has the two front motors stuck in vibration problem. Disabling guns feedback does not help here unfortunately.

No gun problem for me in the F-18

I found it. It is for some unlogical reason the damage/failure channel (tickbox) if I disable it, I dont have the stuck permanent vibration, when using the gun.

Although sometimes after respawn, there is no haptic feedback any more.

I have to close Sim Shaker and start it up fresh to get haptic feedback back. Does someone have a better fix? Just switching the HF8 off and on does not help.

Is there something like just one single device might be given the possibility to read game conditions? I installed the HF8 and it works fine with the NLR software. Now my Winwing Orion II F-16 joystick does not vibrate anymore! While I can test run the vibration motor in the stick DCS seems to not feed information to the joystick anymore??

I unplugged the HF8, I deinstalled the software... joystick vibration is gone.

I then decided to do something radical.

I took the HF 8 apart and stripped it down to just the shaker units and control box.

@GrandGI am also very close to do the same. Do you have some close up pictures of how the boxes with the shakers look like? And how you mounted them on your chair? I am still trying to get a pre used HF8 in the meantime. Might be able to return my new one instead. If I cant get a pre used during my returnable period I will need to cut my new one unfortunately.

What material are the boxes made of? Can I just drill holes in them to mount them?

So, I did what GrandG did. The motors were uncomfortable to sit on. So I cut the cushion open and attached the motors to my Ikea chair, that works unbelievably good for VR flying. First, you can move your torso and head around freely. In a gaming char the headrest resticts your head movement drastically. And because the back of the seat is so small, I have enough room for my arms to slam the throttles in every position. Also I can turn around and watch my 6 while holding on the upper part of the chair. So unless I come across a better chair, I am gonna use that one. Also if it turns out that my HF8 conversion seems to be impractical, I would not have destroyed (besides the HF8) also a gaming chair too.

The lower back motors are just mounted temporarily. I think I will cut them apart.

And I will keep my transducer I used previously too. Works good to emphasize weapon release and bullet hits.

Some people might call it ugly but I call it: The electric Ikea chair!

Canada Computers currently has this for $269 CAD ($195 USD), so I ordered one.  Seems like a good enough deal now.  I considered US Amazon at $159 USD, but it would be about the same by the time it got here with shipping and duties, and would have taken significantly longer to get here.  Still far cheaper at almost half what ordering the Jetpad would have cost me.  Is the current DCS implementation from NLR decent, or is it still necessary to use SimShaker?

When I got mine in October the NLR implementation was awful. SimShaker works just fine since then.

Ok, thanks.  I'll assume that SimShaker is still it then.  Should have mine by Friday this week.
