slughead
Running the latest beta multi-threaded exe. I notice at least one thread/core is running 100% for DCS. That's pretty heavy usage for not a lot going on. Is this normal?null 1 Slugmouse, a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! It was always on btw. Tried setting it auto and off but it did not matter. That one core which happens to be the golden core in amd is loaded 100% when the DCS loads. No matter if you are in ME, main menu, or in flight it keeps at 100%. Some times another core in my other ccd starts behaving like that but the very first core which starts being loaded 100% when DCS loads stays at 100%. Many people seeing it if I look at forums. PS: System 3950x 32gb 4090 quest2. Nothing else is runnning. No discord, no srs, no browsers, no other stuff. Just standalone DCS. Core 0 is still maxed out on the main GUI page. This screams of a message event loop running round without waiting for an event to occur. slughead
@BIGNEWYI have found that if I set my headset refresh rate to 60Hz (was 90Hz), then the CPU load drops below 100%. Hope that helps. Edited March 28, 2023 by slughead 1 Slugmouse, a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Lee Dove
I have been running at 120hz which runs fine in ST with a solid 60fps. If I drop to 72hz in MT I get 36fps (as expected) but even though the main thread is still maxed it copes and at least is usable.. Something is overloading the Main thread in VR for me which does not happen in the ST version with the exact same system. CPU 0 (main thread?) still maxed out at 72Hz. On ST cpu0 never above 50%.
