in the above video (you may have made a typo) it is actually a tamil manpad vs a sri lankan hind. that is a crazy vid though, but i found it odd that the firer aimed so high up when the tgt was actually much closer to the ground. splicing of two unrelated clips maybe?

If it works in the same way as the Stinger missile, you have to elevate the weapon before firing because of the use of a 2 stage motor. First motor only ejects the missile from the tube, the missile actually is lobbed from the tube. Secondary motor actually propels the weapon on the way to the target. I hope that is accurate, it has been 15 years since I shot one.....lol
