DSMS-Page change GBU-31 Settings

Hello everyone!

So, I have a problem with the GBU-31. Namely, I would like to change the setting for the Impact Angle in the DSMS page. So I go into the profile on Change Settings, put an Angle in the UFC, for example 50..... and then press the OSB next to Angle. But he doesn't take the value.

Same problem with azimuth too. I cannot change these values. I've also tried doing this in a new profile. Also without success.

Furthermore, the DSMS page also freezes. This means that I can no longer come back with the RET OSB. Must then also press the OSB next to DSMS to come back again.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

It sometimes happen to me as well. No idea why. Then I restart the mission and it works. Like if I pushed something in wrong sequence, but - go to dsms page, view profile, select the weapon from the list, go into its menu.. it is not complicated. 

 

I also noticed I set up release parameters for some type of bomb, save and when trying to release they are not saved. Sometimes it seems there is a difference if I set the weapon parameters which is already selected and unselected? But why.

Please save a track and upload it for us: Enter a mission, replicate the problem, quit the mission, then hit "Save Track" in the debriefing dialog and upload the resulting .trk file here in the thread, or use a service like Dropbox or Google Drive or OneDrive or so and send us the link to the track.

Which version of DCS are you running? Check the lower right corner of the DCS main screen for the exact version number (e.g. 2.8.3.12345).

Same here; if you can replicate the issue in a short track, this might help narrow it down. Please also note the DCS version when you report it.

Barring a bug, the most common cause for this is players selecting weapon stations from the DSMS -> STAT page rather than selecting weapon profiles either using DMS Right Short/Left Short with HUD as SOI, or by activating a weapon profile through DSMS -> PROF page.

Selecting a weapon station on the DSMS -> STAT page creates a "manual" or temporary profile, denoted by the "M/" prefix: "M/GBU-12" would be such a manual profile. You can certainly change the profile properties, but I believe deselecting and reselecting the weapon station "forgets" all the previously entered data.

The proper way is to set up profile properties from the DSMS -> PROF page, saving them, and then selecting a weapon profile rather than a weapon station; personally I prefer HUD SOI -> DMS Left Short/Right Short (*) because then I don't even need to take my hands off the stick.

(*) Caveat: in GUNS master mode, DMS Left Short/Right Short cycles between the 4 different gun reticles, so make it your personal standard operating procedure to either go out of GUNS master mode after every strafe run, or double check the master mode every time before selecting a weapon profile. Nowadays, I only accidentally change my gun reticle half the time instead of all the effing time previously.

Yes I suppose I pushed something wrong, because after mission restart I pay attention and everything works ok. A-10 hotas is awesome.
