Laser Obstacle Avoidance and Monitoring (LOAM) system.

What can it do?
Is it like a LASER based terrain avoidance, or more used for human made obstacles, like power lines and their poles, or such things?

So what would be the use, capabilities and limitations?

Why would a large transport chopper have FLIR. It is a transport chopper not a gunship.

I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? QuickSilver original.

"Off with his job" Mr Burns on the Simpsons.

"I've seen steering wheels / arcade sticks / flight sticks for over a hundred dollars; why be surprised at a 150 dollar item that includes the complexities of this controller?! It has BLINKY LIGHTS!!" author unknown.

These titles are listed in the chronological order I purchased them.

FLIR is an infrared sensor system, which would be immensely helpful looking for people at night.

I suppose it might be at that.
