Phantom Monitor Fix

I went looking for Notepad ++ and could not find it any where else but at its site and I tried re d/l quite a few times and different files and could not get any of them to work. ..

 

 

I just had a thought, maybe you downloaded the wrong files.. it's the binary download of Notepad+++ you need.

I downloaded the zip file myself and unpaccked it.. you can aslo try the executable one.

 

the directions are also on the website you download it from,, just unpack it and run it

I already have running Phantom Monitor running in the back ground, cool you just launch it and there it is, in the tool bar. I'm also running Dcs Max 1.6.1, does that creat a problem? Tks again.

Hey, Tks for the post back Ramstein, the one I tried was the exe. I should try the zip. I'm also using Win rar. It seems some times rar likes to change the d/l to a rar file. When you say "unpack do you mean to a folder you've created on the desk top? Thanks for you help. Sorry for seeming juvinile, this is just some thing I've never tried before, hard to believe form a 40 yoa.... Ahhh its the wife and 2 teenagers distracting me, hahaha....

Question: In the options in the game, I have Full screen ticked. When I do this I need to untick Full screen.

I also have Cockpit 1024 selected, do I need to change that? Do I need to select the Shkval and Abbris on right and cmera selection or leave it on the org. setting?

Hi!

I am using the phantomfix but still get low fps at 12 when using 2 monitors.

Everything is where i want it to be but still low fps.. when playing 1camera one monitor i get 30fps no problem. Plz help!

I don't mean to sound totally stupid. I can't find where the files are to be pasted that you sent? I'm also missing my "Config Producers file. If it wouldn't be to much, could you tell me where and how to replace these files... This is something I've never done before and you would be doing me a GYNORMUS favor helping me with this. I wish I could offer more than a typed Thank You. If you'ld like and it might help I could call you or we could Team Speak. I also have Ventrillo. I also saw people posting you had to use something other than Note. I saw one person stated he did in MS Paint, and I saw others say they had no probs with Note. I'm using Vista 64 in 32 bit if that makes a difference. Once again thank you very much. By the way you mentioned monitors phyiscal location and changing the text. My main monitor is central {46 inch} and the 2nd is to the right, facing the 46 inch main. I hope Fakum can fix his, good luck. options.lua is in whereyouinstalled\BlackShark\data\scripts

 

modified.lua you have to create in whereyouinstalled\Config\MonitorSetup

 

now what I posted to you earlier was just the graphics section of the options.lua

 

understand that some settings may not be right for your needs . save your original and compare .

 

like my options.lua just posted you need to adjust for your liking , like effects, haze etc..

you have to untick full screen for the phantom monitor fix to work .

 

Cockpit 1024 sets the resolution of the abris and shkval , turn it down if your computer is struggling.

 

after changing your options.lua the camera selection should be automatically set to "modified"

you can run both at the same time , DCS Max adjusts the affinity of your CPU cores , phantom tells your computer not to needlessly draw a 3 rd "phantom monitor" or some such black magic ...:pilotfly: remember, if you are using Vista 64 bits to run the fix as admin or it won't work .

I think it's normal , because of the windowed setting . if you use just 1 monitor and tick off full screen I believe you would see a drop as well .

 

I'm running 3 monitors right now in full screen and I get the same fps as running 2 monitors (cockpit+instruments) .

 

I'm never, ever going back to 1 or 2 monitors .

On the left samsung 18,5" 1360x768 16:9 aspect. where i want to put the abris ans shkval.

 

What do i put in ex. dual monitor lua and setup.lua.

yeah you create a modified.lua file

 

just copy let's say 1camera.lua and rename your copy to modified.lua and put your desired content in it .

open 1Camera.lua and copy the text.

At the bottom then paste the modified.lua text{you provided}

Last save text as "modified.lua

You don't actualy replace the "1Camera.lua", right?

you have to create a new .lua file that would be called modified.lua

 

you can just right click in the folder and click ; "create a new text document" and rename it to modified.lua or copy an existing .lua file and rename it's title to modified.lua and replace the content by what I supplied to you earlier , whatever is easier for you .

First off, a big thanks to all who have contributed to this thread!

 

I have the setup working, but I have one small problem. My radio command menu comes up over my ABRIS. It works and I can see it, but I was wondering if there is anyway to move it either a) back to my main monitor, or b) just above the Shkval? I searched the forums for answers, but I couldn't quite find anything that solved the problem.

Mannnn... What a gynormus difference that makes with all the extra visual area at the bottom with the 2 screens moved over to the 2nd monitor. When I get my Track IR 4, it will be even that much better... You don't see or notice it from the begining with the 2 screens there, until there not there..... Thanks again....

The Start/ Pause window (it has the yellow and black caution line at top), along with the contol input window (RCtrl + Enter) and the green indicator/ buttons (at the top left of main center screen when looking thur the Hud) appear to be to the right abou 4 to 5 inches. it seems this is like an over lay window. How do you move these back left. With out affecting the Shkval/Abris on the 2nd monitor.

2. How do you adjust the Shkval/Abris windows on the 2nd monitor Up, Down, Left or Right and can you make them more wide?

#1- hummm . hard to say , can you take a screenshot ? maybe by testing away you messed up a setting somewhere ..

 

compare your options.lua to your backed up original maybe ..

 

#2- in modified.lua , mine for example here ;

play with it , and try to maintain a proportion that's similar to what you see on the outside . I usually zoom in on a building while on the ground .

Salute x3 to S77th Ryke.... I'm not in any way complaining. Beyond these minor adjustments, You nailed the settings on the head.(Ouch...) I remember reading in one of the 4 or 5 other post on this subject, something similar and I wish I made a note. Its not even the Shkval or Abris, there on the money, thats just a prefference adjustment. The main monitor is the one I'd like to fix. It appears the start/ pause window and when you launch the control input window with the green buttons at top left (looking thru the Hud), there shifted right maybe 4 or 5 inches. The comms menu is in the same position as Ditchers. I wonder if he noticed the others. The comms where its at is fine, you can read it. Could the overlay be the AVI settings. The whole cockpit behind this overlay is perfect in every way.. I wonder what Ditcher thinks? We'll figure this out together. TThanks again for all of your hard work, these are minnor.
