Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen,

I purchased a module for the SU-33 (Love this jet!) a while back and haven't really got into DCS yet, but thanks to the efforts of a few YouTube influencers I am thinking about getting into it on a casual level.
So far I've only been in newbie-servers a few times just to get my airplane in the air and back again. Haven't even gotten into radar yet and the likes of that.

I am living in the Netherlands so the choice of joysticks and throttles isn't that broad.
Up until now I have been playing with a old Microsoft Sidewinder Joystick (X05-63895) with USB and even though it 'kinda' works it isn't really an optimal solution for me since I don't really have anything to control the throttle/brakes with?

What would be good types/models/brands of joysticks and throttles to start with and specially the combination of joysticks/throttles? And what about their connectivity? Is it all USBs?

For someone that isn't using VR or headtrackers, is there an alternative to tilt the view from within the cockpit? (PS5 controller perhaps?)

I'm looking for something that might be in the max 300 euro price range if that is at all possible for both throttle and joystick?

Kind Regards!

I'm a fan of the Thrustmaster T16000 & TWCS setup. It's not the best, not even close, but it provides a workable low budget solution, has a good feel, and enough buttons to get things done.

Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

For the price and functionality, the NXT Gladiator is hard to beat for your flight stick. USB

Throttle, I still use a Logitech X-56. USB

For head tracking, you might check out FaceTrack NoIR... assuming you already have a web cam.

Welcome, and happy flying.

...and don't forget Voice Attack!

Far and away the best $10 you will ever spend on DCS.

What is "Voice Attack"? I looked it up, looks quite handy. Don't know if Voice Attack will recognize the Dutch language in windows though so I'm on the fence about this one for now..

A blessing unto us. :smoke:

It's a simple voice command program that turns what you say into a key stroke. So instead of hitting G or using a button on your HOTAS, you can just say "Gear down", or any other words you chose for that command, and the gear goes down. (Obviously you need a mic.) Saves you lots of buttons on your HOTAS and you don't have to go hunting on the keyboard. And it's fun and pretty easy to set up. Fifteen minutes and you're good.

You choose any words you want to handle any command you want. From very simple to very complex commands.  I couldn't/would fly without it. Steam has a free demo, though it's well worth the $10 for the program.

The big thing to remember is you can make it do what you want, any way you want. It's fantastic!
