Biggin Hill airport was an incredibly important RAF Station and whilst I appreciate it was effectively abandoned from June to September 1944, after that it resumed fighter operations.

Biggin "on the bump" would be great to see in the map!

I really wish all those airfields were on this map along with Croydon etc, but ED hopefully has plans to expand that map now so it would be contrary to their interests.

There are more airfields that are even more important to the Normandy campaign that maybe could be added; there were many 9th AF ALGs in the south of Kent like Headcorn and High Halden and a few 2 TAF ones as well that we could use that are not already on the Channel map so maybe they are a possibility.

Because it is on the Channel map already, along with Manston, Hawkinge, Lympne and East Church.

I must've missed something? Does this mean they can't exist on the latest and greatest WW2 map?

Slightly confusing state of affairs if that's the case.

Not confusing really. Both maps are supposed to cover in high detail different areas with different airfields, as noted in the FAQ thread.

Alright then. Not confusing. A bit illogical is probably a better description.

Agree, it's somewhat illogical. The reasoning seems to be that nobody will buy the Channel map if the full region of the Channel map is already covered in high detail in a different map. Fair enough, but frankly, in the current state I suppose not many people will buy the Channel map anyhow, the Normandy map being so much larger and more advanced. Perhaps, if at some point ED decides to expand the Channel map to Belgium/Holland, people will be interested in buying it again. But in that situation, they won't be buying it because of Biggin Hill or Dover Castle, but because of Belgium/Holland. Also, if they decide to expand the Channel map, by their own reasoning they will not be allowed to cover London, since it is already in the Normandy map.

So yeah, not very logical indeed.

They could've given Biggin Hill to Ugra tbh. The way it sits on the edge of the map, with the barren terrain and blurry textures visible each time I takeoff in that direction, looks kinda terrible.

I would make an update with channel map airfields ONLY to those that own the channel map. That way ED ensures people would buy the Channel Map. So it would become something like the DLC of Normandy2.

$50 for twelve airfields when you already have 70? This will be a hard sell to the users, and even harder sell to the mission designers.
