VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Are they the same/similar technology? If I am using Quest, should I care/worry about Motion Projection? slughead Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 They are similar. If you are using Quest, you use ASW (asynchronous space warp as they call it). If you are using WMR (which you can't with Quest) then you would be using motion projection. ASW is enabled by default with the Quest. 1 Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Slugmouse Demonstration Video
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted April 30, 2023 Author Posted April 30, 2023 Thanks. More question: Is there a way to turn ASW off all the time? Or at least every time I go into Oculus Link mode automatically? I need to run a script every time to do so. I Fly, Therefore I Am. slughead Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 I can. I tested it and the setting persisted after a reboot. Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Slugmouse Demonstration Video
SebastianR Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 From service to oculus link the changes are temporal. Oculus link section is permanent and change registry entries
slughead Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 It is persistent for me. Your version of Oculus seems old. The latest (v51) allows local dimming which I am using. What version are you running? SebastianR Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 That was not my image, it was to use it as an example. I had quest 2 for two years and for a month now I have pico 4. In the two years, disabling asw never persisted. Yes they did the data that if they write to the windows registry 1

Yes they did the data that if they write to the windows registry I am on the latest software and ODT ASW settings don't persist for me either; I am just in the habit of opening it up after I connect the link cable. Which is fine, since I use ASW for some sims and disable it for others. erniedaoage Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 You could try using the occulus tray tools and make some profiles for different sims. At least it changes the profile specific settings for me everytime i use it.
