loosing menu gfx after installing CAT 9.1

hi,

 

as of the unsolvable problems regarding screen freezes this one is not important, but perhaps it helps to identify issues.

 

After install of Cat 9.1 i lost most of the menu background gfx.

Pls see attachment.

 

Debrief & briefing screens are looking kind of low res and because the background is white i cant read the briefing.

 

3D in game is not affected, everything as usual.

 

The problem is present in fullscreen or windowed mode.

Same problem here since I switched to Windows 7 64bit today.

I have an ATI X1950XTX (will get 4850 tomorrow I hope)

There has been reports of issues with catalyst 9.1, and for some disabling Catalyst A.I seems to do the trick, give it a try!

Thanks for the hint tronso! Never seen this A.I. feature before! Disabled it - didnt help unfortunalty. However.. something interessting: setting it to advanced just for another attempt made the lauchner not starting at all. So looks like you brought me close to the core of the problem,

its CCC AI set it to Standard should work. did it for me also I had to reinstall BS to work with the drivers. If we have to reinstall BS after every Driver release thats going to be a problem.

hmm ok... I ll reinstall both until it works.

 

 

[ Also I already lost 4 activations because of the crappy starforce system (failed deactivations for switching to Win7, system forgeting BS activation after reinstalling it etc)

Please give us steam acitvation feature in the future, I want to make my licence save finally ]

just for info, switched back to Cat 8.12 and everything is as usual.

 

I had disabled Catalyst AI, resp. set to standard as without that Launcher.exe failed to start.

Well, disabling AI doesnt work, installing the Vista 8.12 drivers as well as win7 64 bit beta drivers makes even more problems (very often already on the desktop).

The ATI 8.12 hotfix driver doesn't even install...

 

Current config: ATI X1950XTX under Windows 7 64 bit Beta. Right now with Catalyst 9.1 as I can play at least and don't have already resolution problems on desktop

Im still using the 9.1 CCC under Win 7 64 because Im not able to install an older one. Game works fine but I still have the white menu glitch combined with flickering (menus only; so just a 2D problem).

 

Anyone here running Win 7 64 with X1950XTX?

 

I ll also try to reinstall BS - it won't deactivate, right?

Just tried my CC9.1 with AI set to advanced and no problems loading...

Same like last week:

 

AI disabled: white menu and flickering

AI standard: white menu and flickering

AI advanced: BS doesn't start at all (tells me something about lua stack corrupted.. widgetteam.cpp and stuff...)
