as always we would like to ask you for your kind feedback for today's patch. We hope that specifically issues with HUD readability in bright situations will no longer bother you during your flights!

DCS AJS-37 Viggen by Heatblur Simulations

  • Tweaked HUD glass for better visibility in very bright lighting.
  • Fixed various sound loop issues.
  • Better ease-in and ease-out for afterburner sounds in cockpit
  • Added ability to move ahead in Cold Start mission in case of misfiring trigger.
  • Show Must Go On livery now shows appropriate droptank textures.

HUD visibility definitely improved a lot. I also run reshade, which made everything look better but HUD visibility even worse. So far no more visibility issues even with reshade 👍

Hello!

HUD visibility is much better!

I have no numbers on my geardoors?

I have not had any numbers there before this update either.

I have done a "vanilla" install and the problem remains. 

 

Just a minor problem!

Hi Otulf, thank you for the feedback. Are you maybe running a mod or custom liveries that may cause this? I know you said vanilla install, but mind you mods can leave orphaned files, and sometimes only wiping it completely helps (hence it is good to keep track of all files a mod installs). Generally a repair can remove some of these, but some may remain still.

Gear numbers wasn't enabled on the default Viggen skin/model in the last stable patch but they are currently broken anyway.

Mission was stuck at the setting QFE step, so now the mission doesnt require it to fire the next trigger anymore and one can proceed.

Oh, remember this. You got to really nail that setting. Good to see it fixed, probably quite confusing for a new guy 👍

Yesterday my Viggen was hit while on the ground. So I repaired, which completed, but when I tried to re-arm with a Modern Anti Ship, they kept appearing then falling off the plane.  I'm relatively new to multiplayer DCS, so I couldn't say that it might perhaps have been a problem with the airfield I landed at, but I would've thought that if the airfield didn't have any weapons available, they wouldn't even appear let along appear then fall off the plane.

Really sounds like the emergency weapon jettision was pressed. Do you have that put on any switch or button on your stick or throttle? Maybe double check in the controls (as DCS likes to auto-bind silly stuff 😛 )

No, I only press the button using the mouse, too dangerous otherwise! It was certainly not pressed either! 🙂

I've seen this bug several times before, mostly with sidewinders, and I submitted an official bug report for it.

"Subsonic is below Mach 1, supersonic is up to Mach 5. Above Mach 5 is hypersonic. And reentry from space, well, that's like Mach a lot."
